Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection prevention
and control policy for Bellissima Belle

All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Beauty Room has been closed for 4 months I would like to thank you for choosing to visit my local business now I can reopen again. Now more than ever is a great time to support independent business and each other so thank you for supporting mine.

I have missed being able to offer you the treatments that I know you love, and I’m looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

My priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening the salon I have implemented a number of changes which I would like to make you aware of. During the time the salon has been closed, I have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. I have also completed another course on a Salon disinfectant solution which covered the best ways of cleaning and disinfecting salon implements and the salon when open during the pandemic. I have since made a number of changes in the way that we operate that you will notice when you next visit.

Booking Appointments

If I or any of my household (as the Beauty Room is in my house) feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19 I will self-isolate immediately. This may mean that I have to cancel your appointment at short notice. I appreciate this may be inconvenient, but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled, you will be able to re-book again or ask for a full refund or gift voucher.

If you, a member of your household, someone you are in a support bubble with or if track and trace have contacted you due to you being in contact with someone who has tested positive or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise me as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. I have amended our booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness.

A COVID-19 consultation form will be emailed to you and will need to be filled out in full and emailed back no less than 24 hours before your appointment. I will then need to confirm there has been no change to the answers previously provided on the form before conducting the treatments.

Visiting the Salon

For your safety and to maintain social distancing, I ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving.

I have increased the frequency of cleaning in the Beauty Room including making sure that common surfaces, toilets door handles and card machines etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client.

Between each client I will be running a defence essential oil blend through the diffuser to purify the air.

The client toilet is NOT used by me or anyone else in the household and is strictly for clients. Hand towels will be replaced with disposable hand towels and a poster will be available to demonstrate the effective NHS hand washing procedure.

All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.

Wherever possible one-use tools will be utilised during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection.

You will have access to sanitiser as soon as you enter the front door for your use on entering and exiting. You will then be asked to wash your hands with soap and water in the client toilet before entering the Beauty Room.

You will also be required to use the plastic shoe covers provided upon entering.

I would kindly request that you wear a face covering for your appointment. If you do not wish to wear a face covering, you will be required to sign a declaration to confirm you declined the option.

Please only bring 1 bag and a coat should you require one into the Beauty Room as I am trying to limit the number of items brought on to the premises.

I will be using personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This will include a visor, face mask and protective gloves.

I can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority and can assure you that all salon laundry is washed at 60 degrees C.

All soft furnishings such a blankets, upholstered chairs and cushions have been removed so all items in the beauty room can be laundered on a hot wash or wiped down to disinfect the area.

All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area between each client.

During your treatment

I understand the importance of hand hygiene and I will ensure that I wash my hands in accordance with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment.

All magazines have been removed from the Beauty Room, but you are more than welcome to bring some reading material of your own.

I can still provide you with a drink for you to enjoy with your treatment however this will be served in a disposable cup. Or if you would like to be environmentally friendly your more than welcome to bring your own travel mug.

I will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments, please let me know and I will do what I can to meet your requirements.

After the treatment

In order to avoid handling of cash, I would prefer if you could pay for your treatment by card or in advance using bank transfer. (Please note contactless payments can be accepted up to £45.00)

All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and mine. I will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practices and will amend them, as necessary.

Thank you for your understanding.
